The Utah AIDS Memorial Project
The state of Utah began recording deaths caused by AIDS in 1983. This project works to record those names and collect biographical information about those we have lost.
How You Can Participate
The Utah AIDS Memorial project brings researchers, community members, and memory together to ensure that every name—every life—is remembered authentically and fully in order to build a better present and future.

Our Approach
This project defines “Utahn” in its broadest sense as Utah can be and mean so many things to so many people.
The following examples outline who can be remembered in this project.
Contributing Criteria:
+Anyone who was born, raised, and/or lived in Utah for any time will be listed.
+University students or people who moved here shortly before dying can be listed.
Non-Contributing Criteria:
-People who were not born or never lived in Utah.
-People who were LDS or critical in an Affirmation chapter, but never lived in or were from Utah.
-Traveling performers, artists, or actors who came to Utah as part of a group, tour, or visit but never lived in or had a connection to Utah.
